Masaya Yamaguchi (born July 18, 1970) is a guitarist and educator residing in Manhattan, New York City. Masaya grew up in Tokyo, Japan and decided to study in the U.S. at the age of 26. Masaya Yamaguchi became the first native Japanese to complete the master's program in Jazz Performance at the City College of New York (M.A. 1999) and the contributor to Down Beat magazine and Annual Review of Jazz Studies (which is peer reviewed and published by the Institute of Jazz Studies at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey).” 〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.jazz.com/encyclopedia/yamaguchi-masaya/ )〕 According to his profile in Marquis Who's Who in America, Masaya Yamaguchi has been engaged in a wide range of activities, having been a musician and an educator who established his conceptualistic system to explore the imaginative formation of musical scales by The Complete Thesaurus of Musical Scales.
